The Airport Community Roundtable (ACR) at Charlotte Douglas International (CLT) is seeking a representative from the Town of Davidson. The ACR is a broad-based community initiative to provide input into airport-related noise impacts and to find, where possible, practical solutions and recommendations for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to consider when determining aircraft operating procedures at CLT.
ACR membership consists of twenty-five representatives from across Charlotte and Mecklenburg County as well as Gaston and York counties. The FAA, airlines, and the airport serve as advisory members of the ACR. The meetings are professionally facilitated by an airport consultant and supported by professional technical consultants, with the purpose of discussing and, possibly, proposing recommendations for aircraft operating changes at CLT. Meetings focus on developing technical recommendations rather than providing a general public discussion forum.
Davidson wishes to thank Bob Cameron, representative since 2017, for his ACR engagement on behalf of the town, as well as other communities throughout the region. Bob will be stepping down as of July, at which time the new representative will begin their appointment.
More details can be found here, and those interested in representing Davidson at the ACR can complete the application here. No technical knowledge of the aviation industry is required to serve on the ACR as the Town of Davidson Representative. The deadline to apply is May 18, 2022.
