Wireless Access: PAW-Net
Overview

It's been several years since PAW-Net, Davidson's Public Area Wireless Network, first went online, and all signs indicate it's being well-used. The wireless network was originally a private network built for town-owned computers. At the urging of Davidson's great friend Jack Burney, it was expanded into PAW-Net to attract more people into our downtown.

In the green area between Summit Coffee and town hall, college students, business people and stay-at-home moms and dads with their laptops (and sometimes their kids) use PAW-Net to connect. The PAW-Net utilization graphs show a nice overlap with the academic schedule of Davidson College - just as Jack hoped.
