Crew members are on duty for 24 hours at a time. They typically cook meals at the fire stations depending on emergency calls, training, and any other required duty activities. Sometimes, apparatus and duty crews will be seen at stores purchasing food for their meals. Sometimes, the crew will be out in town conducting building tours and community service events. Maintaining crew integrity is essential for fire department operations. This is why the crew travels with the designated apparatus to ensure they are ready to respond to any emergency that occurs within the town.
