Davidson Police Department Arrest Three Suspects in June 23 Homicide Case
?The Davidson Police Department reports yesterday they arrested three suspects in the homicide of Jerry Wayne Kerns, Jr., also known as “Junior,” that took place on the 400 block of Jetton Street in Davidson on June 23.
Gercobe Arnell McClain, Jr., a resident of Davidson with a date of birth of March 24, 1987,
Frederick Jamar Cherry, a resident of Mooresville with a date of birth of January 31, 1990, and,
Rupen Bhagvan Patel, a resident of Mooresville with a date of birth of June 26, 1989.
The arrest warrants are for first degree murder.
The victim, a black male and resident of Cornelius, died as a result of a gunshot wound.
“I’d like to thank the members of our community, and family and friends of the victim, for their support and cooperation in working with us to find justice for Jerry Kerns,” said Davidson Police Chief Jeanne Miller. “We would like to acknowledge that this arrest has been a great collaborative effort between law enforcement agencies in the county and state.”
