Davidson Police Department Conducts a Homicide Investigation, Searches for Suspect(s)
?The Davidson Police Department reports that on Tuesday, June 23 at approximately 8:45 p.m. they responded to a call on the 400 block of Jetton Street in Davidson. In addition to the Davidson Police Department, officers from Cornelius, Huntersville, and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Departments were on the scene to assist.
The identity of the victim is Jerry Kerns, a black male and resident of Cornelius.
The Davidson Police Department continues to investigate the crime and seeks information on one suspect described as a black male. The suspect(s) fled the scene in a red Chevy Caliber hybrid SUV.

North Mecklenburg Crime Stoppers offers a $1,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
“We recognize that this situation is very upsetting to citizens in town, but we know this is not a random act and want to assure our residents that they are safe,” said Davidson Police Chief Jeanne Miller. “We are working hard to identify the person(s) who committed this act and bring them to justice.”
