Express Bus Service Routes

Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will be introducing new Express Service routes starting next Monday, February 3, 2020. Particularly of interest for Davidson is a new Davidson Shuttle, and the 77X North Meck Express, which includes service during morning and evening rush hour from Davidson and Cornelius to Uptown.

Mayor Rusty Knox plans on making this trip the very first day, and you can follow his journey on our town’s Facebook page or follow #RideWithRusty.

Affordable Housing Joint Work Session
The Davidson Board of Commissioners and the Affordable Housing Committee will be having a joint work session on Monday, February 3 at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room at Town Hall.
Board of Commissioners Q&A Session
The first Q&A Session of the year with the Mayor and Board of Commissioners will be on Tuesday, February 4 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Alban's Episcopal Church at 301 Caldwell Lane. Everyone is invited to attend. 
Davidson Connections
On Thursday, February 6 at 9:00 a.m., Davidson Connections has its first meeting of the year at Good Drip Coffee on Main Street, so please join us for that if you’re able. 

Civics 101

Also, beginning next Thursday, February 6, our popular Civics 101 course is launching!  It’s a free, 10-week course open to folks who live or work in Davidson and introduces them to local government here in town.

Mecklenburg County Manager Dena Diorio and Community Engagement & Strategy Manager Rebecca Herbert presented an update on Livable Meck. FY2019 Audit Report and Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR)
Finance Director Pieter Swart and Lead Auditor and Partner Ann Craven of Rowell, Craven and Short, PA presented the FY2019 Audited Financial Statements and CAFR for the Town of Davidson. 

Public Comment

Four people spoke during the public comment period.

Consent items are typically non-controversial and routine items. Prior to the board's adoption of the meeting agenda, the request of any member to have an item moved from the consent agenda to old business must be honored by the board. All items on the consent agenda must be voted on and adopted by a single motion. All items were approved including:  

  • Meeting Minutes from the December 3 regular meeting and December 10 swearing in ceremony and organizational meeting
  • Amend the meeting schedule to add a joint work session with the Affordable Housing Committee on Monday, February 3 at 6:00 p.m. in the Davidson Town Hall Board Room, Q&A Session at St. Alban's on Tuesday, February 4 at 9:00 a.m., and 2020 Strategic Retreat in Asheville, NC on Thursday, February 20 and Friday, February 21
  • Extension of the FY2019 Audit Contract from December 1, 2019 to December 5, 2019 as required by the LGC
  • Resolution 2020-02 to Exempt the Team Summit Foundation Twilight Racing Series from Section 54-1 of the Municipal Code on March 14 and October 24, 2020
  • Resolution 2020-03 Code of Ethics
