Approval of the FY2021 Budget and Capital Improvement Plan
The board voted 3-2 to approve the FY2020-2021 Budget Ordinance 2020-02 and the Capital Improvement Plan and Fee Schedule as presented in the Manager’s Recommended Budget booklet, to freeze the Parks & Recreation Director position, and appropriate $103,000 from that position plus $70,000 in contingency to the administrative budget to fund the Affordable Housing, Equity and Inclusion position and programming.
The budget was originally presented on May 12, and a virtual public hearing was conducted on May 26. Finance Director Piet Swart provided one final presentation during the meeting. All budget documents are also available on our website at www.townofdavidson.org/budget.
Approval of Resolution 2020-08 to appoint new Continuum Board Members
The board of commissioners unanimously approved Resolution 2020-08 to nominate and approve at-large voting directors to the Continuum Board and authorize the CEO and/or interim CEO and other officers of Continuum to perform and cause Continuum to perform all actions necessary to effect the close out of the business. Due to the recent sale of the Continuum cable system, several members of the board of directors have resigned. The Continuum Board of Directors still need to approve an audit and take other actions to close out the business.
