Additional No-Cost COVID-19 Testing Begins Nov. 1 at MSC in Davidson

COVID Testing SiteMecklenburg County Health Department, in partnership with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Service, is pleased to be able to offer expanded no-cost COVID-19 virus testing capacity as part of a partnership between the state of North Carolina and United Providers of Health. This new community testing site builds on North Carolina’s ongoing work to increase access to testing and slow viral spread in key locations and reduce the burden on public and private local healthcare providers.

"Testing is a core element of North Carolina’s response to this pandemic, and that means making sure cost and access challenges never act as a barrier to a needed test. As we continue expanding free community testing options, we’re helping North Carolinians to stay informed about their health and help slow the spread of COVID-19," said NCDHHS Secretary Mandy Cohen, M.D.
Testing site locations are determined based on epidemiological trends and reports from state and local public health. Key considerations include the acceleration and overall rate of case growth, the share of new cases among historically marginalized populations and current levels of testing access.
Rapid and PCR Testing will begin on November 1, 2021 in the Town of Davidson, at MSC Industrial Supply Company, 525 Harbour Place Dr, Davidson, NC 28036 (Parking Lot Only).  This testing site will be open Monday, Tuesday and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm (subject to change based on need and availability). Anyone can be tested, with or without symptoms, including underinsured, undocumented and homeless individuals. Walk-ups are accepted, no appointments, no identification, and no insurances are required.  We encourage residents to register at or call (800)701-1023. Curbside testing will be available for those who are unable to leave their vehicle.
United Providers of Health was chosen as a partner for these testing sites because they have extensive expertise in rapidly deploying and linking to Integrated Care services to address the Social Determinants of Health in Rural and Underserved communities.
If you are interested in getting a virus test, you may register by visiting or by calling (800) 701-1023.
