Town of Davidson Announces More Events for the Davidson Mobility Plan

The Town of Davidson is continuing the creation of its Davidson Mobility Plan, a community-driven effort to look at innovative solutions, projects, and programs to help residents move in town via foot, bike, car, and transit, and address congestion. The Davidson Mobility Plan will also serve as a Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) that will enable the town to seek funding for projects to help the town manage, sustain, and improve the town’s transportation infrastructure. Town staff is working with consultant Alta Planning + Design to develop the plan. We encourage the community to participate.

Upcoming community engagement opportunities:

  • Presentation: Innovative Technology and Transit

Date: Monday, April 16

Time: 6:00 p.m.

Location: Davidson Town Hall board room

Details: Come hear presentations on innovative transportation technology, the offerings of the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS), and an update on the Davidson trolley.  After the presentation, we will have a question and answer session.

  • Presentation: Bicycle, Pedestrian, and Motor Vehicle Connections

Date: Thursday, May 10

Time: 6:00 p.m.

Location: Davidson United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall (233 S. Main Street)

Details: This event will include presentations on bicycle and pedestrian facilities, and roadway connections with a panel of experts from the Town of Davidson, Mecklenburg County, Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization, and the North Carolina Department of Transportation. Each speaker will give a brief presentation, and then we’ll facilitate a question and answer session and group activity.

All of these presentations will be live-streamed and recorded for future viewing.

“We look forward to getting citizen input on multiple modes of transportation (pedestrian, bicycle, automobile, and transit), transportation policies, and how they all work together in Davidson,” said Senior Planner Travis Johnson. “We’re hoping to come up with creative solutions to address the congestion we have in town.”
