A message from the Fire Department Chief
On behalf of the members of the Davidson Fire Department, I would like to welcome you to our web page. Our pages have information which describe the level of services that we provide to Davidson's residents and visitors. Our mission is to provide effective and efficient emergency response to all residents and visitors within the Town of Davidson and the North Star Fire District. Our goal is to serve the people at a high level.
Since 1933, the department has served Davidson's residents and visitors. Over the years, the department has grown from an all-volunteer department operating from one fire station, to now operating as a combined organization with full-time and part time personnel. The department currently provides services to the town by operating out of two fully staffed fire stations that provide emergency services response twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, three hundred and sixty-five days of the year.
The people who live, work, and visit Davidson are our most precious commodities. Our staff is highly trained to ensure that the Davidson Fire Department is providing the most up-to-date and effective emergency services response. Our members have a deep passion for serving the people of this town, and that is reflected in our interactions with the community. Our members are passionate about the services we provide to our residents and visitors, and we intend to ensure that any interaction you have with any of our members is a positive one.
If I, or any member of my staff can be of assistance to you, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Fire Department Response
Members on duty staff two fire companies 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Each company is fully staffed with qualified firefighters and emergency medical technicians. First responders are certified North Carolina Emergency Medical Technicians. Our firefighters have taken extensive fire fighter training based on guidelines from the NC Department of Insurance and the Office of the State Fire Marshal, and have also received additional training in rescue procedures and techniques.
Davidson and surrounding communities work together with automatic and mutual aid agreements.
Community Connect is a free, secure, and easy to use platform which allows Davidson homeowners to share critical information about their household that will aid first responders and emergency response personnel when responding to their residence. By providing important information about your household that will be helpful at the time of an emergency, the Davidson Fire Department can ensure that you and everything you care about is protected to the best of the department's ability.

The Insurance Service Office (ISO) reviews the fire prevention and fire suppression capabilities of individual communities or fire protection areas. As a result of the town's most recent inspection in 2020, the fire department earned a Class 2 rating within the incorporated city limits and a Class 4 rating for anywhere in the ETJ within five miles of a fire station (which our calculations show includes all current structures). The Class 2 rating places the Davidson Fire Department in the top three percent of all fire departments statewide, a particularly significant achievement for a small department.
